ANDREWS, Queen (Gladys) - Passed away suddenly at home on October 21, 2003, Queen (Gladys) Andrews, aged 74 years. Predeceased by brother Henry Mate. Leaving to mourn her husband Ralph; daughters: Sandra (Frank), Carol (Tim), Shirley (Mike), Lana; grandchildren: Fred, Andrew, Jaime and John-Paul; sister Kathleen Croke; sister-in-law Clara Garland; brothers-in-law: San (Millicent), Bill (Grace), Wilson, Cyril (Rose), Alwyn (Sue); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. October 22, 2003 DIAMOND, Minnie Ellsworth (July 20, 1904 - October 20, 2003)- Passed peacefully away on October 20, 2003 at the Glenbrook Lodge Seniors` Home, St. John`s, Minnie Ellsworth Diamond, aged 99 years. Born at Flat Islands (Port Elizabeth), Placentia Bay, she was predeceased by parents John and Mary Diamond; brothers: Walter, Leslie, Frederick and Hubert; sisters-in-law: Amelia and Eliza; nephews-in-law: Ralph Crummey and Norman Porter. Left to mourn with cherished memories and thanks for her life are nieces Beulah (L. Marmaduke) Collins and Beatrice Crummey, St. Johns; Lily (Napoleon) Himbeault, Osoyoos, BC and Marie Porter, Mississauga, ON; her only nephew, Lawrence (Phyllis) Diamond, St. John`s; four great nieces, seven great nephews, five great-great nieces, ten great-great nephews, three great-great-great nieces and one great-great-great nephew and special dog, Sparkie. Also mourning her death are many other relatives and close friends including Sue (Willy) Feaver, CBS; Amy (! Carl) Bates, Halifax; and Eleanor Saliski, St. John`s, as well as staff and friends at Glenbrook Lodge where she resided for the last four years. Predeceased by her father William, (1988) and her brother Dan (1985). October 22, 2003 MERCHANT, Douglas - Passed away at the Waterford Hospital on Tuesday, October 21, 2003, age 68 years. Former resident of the Community Care Program, CBS. He will be sadly missed by his many friends at Morgan`s and Perrin`s Community Care Home. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road.
