    3. This note from page 159 of "Life and Labour in Newfoundland" by C.R. Fay... quote: "In Rencontre West (1952) I made an acquaintance of Mr. Robert Webb, a storekeeper there. His father was a Somerset man (Merriot, near Crewkerne) married to a Rowsell; and he told me how the old man made and lost a fortune in the 1920's, finally owing money to several firms at St. John's: "and (he added) I am sorry to say some fishermen." He is reported to have been a fur trader for forty years 1825-1865. Thompson, John B....place of birth unknown Tuttle, Ebenezer...b. in 1774 at New Haven, Conn.
