Hi Pat, I live in Newfoundland... Where do you live? I would be interested in any Kendalls or Kendells that you may have in your family line. Thanks for the information on the Gallops. I think that there was a Minister Rev. Gallop in Hermitage in the late 1800's. James Moore married Jane GALLOP, James Young married Elizabeth GALLOP and William GALLOP married Jane?. They all moved from Fortune to Codroy in 1835 and the GALLOP name in Fortune died out because Mary Anne married James Hickman, Ann married Ben Belbin, Amelia married George Forsey, Susan married James Lake and Grace married Henry Martin. Benjamin married a Jane but no other info on him. John GALLOP of Wiliam and Jane was born in Fortune and married twice in Codroy His first wife was Charlotte Galpin and the second was Sarah Evans whose mother was a Kendall. I have no information on the YOUNG and MOORE families of Codroy as I am still trying to connect all the Gallops that are closer. Thomas, I live in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. Both of my parents were from Newfoundland. Mother born in Codroy and father in Rose Blanch. Checking my records I note that Emmanuel Gallop married an Alice Parsons Lilliington on 26 July 1886. A witness at the wedding was Magdala Evans. In the Holy Trinity Church in Codroy is a tombstone that says In loving memory of Alice died June 9 1942 age 79 years and her mother Sarah Kendell who died June 2nd 1907 age 79 years. I have Anne Patten Oliver's "Descendants of John Kendle of Dorset and Newfoundland" Do you have it? They came to Hermitage Bay before 1813. The descendants are related to Colliers, Samms, Fiander, Dalton as I am. The Gallops in Hermitage appear to be related to the ones in Codroy but there are some problems with proving it. These Gallops have proven Roots in Dorset and are related to the Mullins family of NL and Kent England Pat, in Michigan On Nov 4, 2006, at 5:38 PM, Thomas Kendell wrote: > Hi Pat, > > I live in Newfoundland...
