Hi, Because I had an address for my grandparents, I was able to find out that they were paying taxes, first in my grandfather's name and after his death, my grandmother was paying it. This was from City Hall. They had a lot of old records. Also, at the library of the Univ. there is a wealth of info on Newfoundland. I also found my grandfather's death notice even though it was a small notice on micro film. I live in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard. Hope this helps some.
