I have Cull ancestors who came from Burley in the New Forest in England, near the south coast. I have just received a copy of some documents relating to their property in Burley. One of these records how my great-great-grandfather Stephen Cull purchased the family home, Black Bush, from his brother Maurice Cull, fisherman, of Fogo, Newfoundland )brother Maurice born 1774). This has opened up a new trail for me, as I'd previouly had no idea what became of any of Stephen's brothers. There was also a Richard (b.1765) and a William (b.1771). I wonder if William may have been the William Cull, fisherman/ furrier of Fogo, who in 1803 took a Boethuck woman, brought her to the Governor's House in St John's and made a bit of a hash out of trying to return her to her people. But anyway, it sounds as though we may be connected. Do you know who your Stephen's father was?
