    3. edited and updated today by ILGHR...Thank you Cindy....I suggest posting this information to: [email protected] [email protected] To: [email protected] Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2007 15:57:09 -0500 Subject: [DOR] West Country Strays This week, while doing some research using the parish registers of the Forteau Mission of the Church of England Diocese of Newfoundland dating from the 1850s and 60s, I found a number of records referring to men from the Dorset, Devon, Somerset and one from Cornwall who married women from Newfoundland and Labrador. They may be able to help someone out there, so I have pasted them below. With the exception of places on this side referred to as in Conception Bay, which is in the southeast of Newfoundland, near St. John's, all of the villages are located on either the south coast of Labrador or on the opposite shore of the northern part of the island of Newfoundland. Also, as I am not part of lists for the other counties, please feel free to forward this to lists for Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
