Are you stuck on a final detail to complete your research? Are you looking for fellow researchers researching the same surname? Regardless of where you live, if your genealogy search has taken you to Newfoundland and Labrador, you are welcome to place a query with Roots to the Past, the genealogy column that appears each Thursday in the Western Star, Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Your query will be placed alongside the column in the newspaper and on the Roots to the Past website (for one year). Recently, I submitted my last query for Newfoundland, so there will be no waiting to see your query in print. As usual, the queries appear in the paper in the order I receive them. See below on query guidelines. Please, contact me off the list to submit queries. Thank you, Diana Diana Lynn Tibert Roots to the Past website: MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "www.angelfire.com" claiming to be http://thefamilyattic.info/Roots.html Last Updated: January 3, 2007 --------------- How to Submit a Query to the "Researcher's File" When submitting queries, ask one specific question. For example, 'Who were Jane Taylor's parents?' or 'Looking for information on the Noel family of Gander.' Add information that will help identify the person such as date and place of birth, and names of parents, spouses and siblings. Use the date format, May 23, 1897, to leave no question about the day and month. Queries can be up to 35 words not including contact information. Include a mailing address and an email address. NOTE: Read some of the queries posted on the website to learn more about the format. Send Queries with the Subject Line "Researcher's File" to: Diana Lynn Tibert: [email protected] Unfortunately, time does not permit me to research the family trees of others, but I hope by posting queries, I will help knock down brick walls and extend the branches of the tree. Please, submit queries in the body of an email. Do not submit using attachments.
