Ton, I read part of your interesting attachment. I went into the Irish aspect of it, but I dfidn't see any Swain names. I was endeavouring to prob into my GGGreandfather's back ground. I think he was born 1797 ?? Ulster Ireland. He came to Blow-me-down, Carbonear, Conception Bay. He came to NL as School Master or Teacher and taught at Perry's Cove, C.B.. I'm not sure of his religious background, probably Methodist or Church of Ireland. I some some data on his NL family as provided by Matt. If you have any info either of his NL rootes or Irish I would appreciate your info. Thanks. H.
