part of correspondence: ...For your Helling research you should look at the background of the Newfoundland merchant Andrew Pinson of Dartmouth, Devon. This is likely the same Pinson married in Staverton, Devon in 1750 into the Helling family; and the Devon-Newfoundland seacaptain Thomas Way had a mother named Helling. The father, also a Thomas Way (1730-1824), age 94, died in Blackawton in 1824. In that era this must have been a record longevity. Cheers Tom
