My Saunders would be James Saunders who married Eliza Pippy and had son Gilbert Saunders who married Laura Butt. James and Gilbert are listed in Hall's Bay Proper census and were in close contact with the Miq maq in that place. Gilbert grew up with the Indians and spoke their language fluently. I have not come across any reference to them being connected to Labrador although anything is possible as I can't find James Saunders' actual birth or parents names.
