They had no connections to the US as I can ascertain. As Linda has discovered by now, Selina and Sophia Gale's parents were William Gale of John and Jane, and Elizabeth Blanchard of William and Elizabeth from Bay of Islands. John was from Bridport, England and married Jane Pickett of Vere (Fair) Island. William Blanchard was from Woodlands, England and Elizabeth Blanchard was Mi'kmaq.
