I have a Thomas of James an Eunice: 1921 Beachy Cove SAUNDERS; Thomas; BC; Hd; Aug 1885; Hall's Bay; CE; Lum;;; SAUNDERS; Maggie; BC; Wife; Oct 1888; Hall's Bay; RC;; m to Thomas Saunders, BC; Mic Mac Indian;; There is a tanalizing trail about Mi'kmaq from or to , anyway between Newfoundland And Labrador. I wonder if this Saunders crowd is one of those leads. There are a bunch of placenames with Micmac in them (Micmas Hill, etc) near Aillik (Postville) and I wish I could find out why. I have heard/read a story about a Mi'kmaw in Labrador who suggested carving up the inland area into trapping areas similar to our trapping areas here on the island and elsewhere in Canada, but the local people wouldn't hear of it and he had to leave the area, where ever it was.
