In Sturminster Marshall, Dorset Their son Herbet was born 27 April 1788 and he came to Nfld. Later went to Australia. Thomas Gallop and Mary Wiffin were married 11 Oct in Shapwick Dorset. There is a will for a William Gallop of Sturminster Marshall who died 28 Dec 1757 in the Archdeaconrry court of Dorset Mary Elizabeth Gallop wife of Edward Clench Gallop died Feb 18,1891 at age 42 and is buried in the Hermitage Cem. There is a John GALLOP who came to Dorchester Mass on the Mary and John in 1630 He was the son of John GALLOP and Christobel Brushette of Brideport Dorset. Their son John married a Hannah Lake. They had a son William Gallop who married a Sarah in Stonington CT.in 1658. Could our GALLOP's have been Loyalists who left New England after the Revolution?? Edward C.
