    3. Hi Janet, Nice to hear from you. The Newfoundland Howell family did originate in Carbonear, some of them moved from there to Western Bay. From there one line (about 3 or 4 people) went to Cobblers Island in Bonavista Bay. I believe a few went into Trinity Bay and now I find from your note that another one went to Red Bay, Labrador. Seems to me I also recall that another one went to the west coast of the Northern Peninsula. From this perspective the Howell family story is not unlike many other families that seem to have migrated up the east coast. When I get a chance (within a week) I will split off a Howell Family Tree (as I have it recorded) and send it to you. I would appreciate you sending me what you have on your branch of the tree. I do have a Robert, son of Richard, who married a Rebecca but I have his approx birth as 1795 not 1784 ??? ( you may very well be right as date was an approx guess). Where did you get the 1784 date? I have only three children recorded for them as follows (John - 1819, Mary - 1823, Eliza - 1830) although I am sure there were more. Few families back then had only three children. I just noticed your last name - Pye, probably from Trinity Bay ???? :-) Regards Ed ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janet Howell" <janethowell@hotmail.com> To: <nfld-lab@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, April 02, 2009 11:00 AM Subject: [NFLD-LAB] Richard Howell Western Bay NL Also, can you tell me if there is a connection between Matthias Howell and Richard?
