He was a Micmac from NS. The children of the first two marriages did not settle in Badger. John William Paul's son Francis Walter of 3rd marriage was born in Seal Cove in Twillingate district. John Walter Paul and wife Elixabeth Pike settled in Hodges Hills area (near Badger) in 1899. The second son of John Walter Paul, named John Paul, was born in Hodges Hills. It is believed that this John Paul was the first child born in Badger (Hodges Hill).
