    3. There is the possibility that it was missed. The original site transcriptions were done by folks around the US and Canada. One person made copies of it all and mailed it out to each of us. There are several ways it could have been missed. Depending on how small the community was in 1921 and where it was on the film, it could have gotten missed there. Also, some of folks doing the transcribing realized it was more than they could handle and others took over. It is possible that something got missed in the transfer. It was a huge project done in a relatively short time (way shorter than estimated). Some pieces of the original were lost and some never existed. What you can do is order the microfilm (may even be digital now) at your local FHC and copy the pages and transcribe them. I'm sure Don and the rest of us at the site would be grateful for the added info and help :-) Tioraidh an-dràsda Cheryl & Seamus the wee fiend > > > > Message: 1 > Date: Wed, 18 Feb 2009 09:29:24 -0330 > From: Wilson and Yvonne Dicks <wandydicks@persona.ca> > Subject: [NFLD-LAB] 1921 census..Burin District..community of Corbin > To: NFLD-LAB-L <NFLD-LAB-L@rootsweb.com> > Message-ID: <000501c991c8$b9c63070$d46bd718@wilsoncomputer> > Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset=Windows-1252; > reply-type=original > > The 1921 census for the "Burin" District is missing the community of > "Corbin". > > Is it possible that this community has not been transcribed from the > hand written census or is > it mistakenly placed in another district? > > Wilson > > >

    3. Hello Cheryl, I would like more specific information on ordering the microfilm that might be available for areas that I am researching (Burin area). I grew up in the States so I don't recognize what FHC might be. I spent as many hours as could be arranged during my recent trip to Newfoundland researching Church records of the Anglican Church for the 1800s. A few hours is only the tip of the iceberg. Is it possible to obtain microfilm/digital images of this information? I've looked on the NGB site and gleaned what is available there. Thank you to all the folks who worked so hard to post information to that site. Doris On Feb 19, 2009, at 11:27 AM, Cheryl McGregor wrote: > There is the possibility that it was missed.
