Waterloo Region Record Obituaries - Jul. 2, 2009 CUMMINGS, Richard Michael 'Dick' - Born May 17, 1934, Died June 30, 2009. After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and poppy who passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Dick was born in Bell Island and moved his family to Ontario 46 years ago where he was an employee at Canadian General Tower for 30 years. Left to mourn are his wife of 51 years, Marie (nee Dunne); five children, Keith (Janice), Wayne (Jackie), Gary (Marlene), Darlene (John) Newell, Perry (Julie); ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and soon to be two. Dick is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Annie; two brothers, Jim of Ontario and Art of Bell Island. Also survived by one sister, Veronica (Rocky) Highmore; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Phyliss of Ontario, Marie of Bell Island, Dorie and Peter of Windsor, and Verena of Oakville. Dick also will be mourned by many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. He will be greatly missed. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Corbett Funeral Home , 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, on Saturday, July 4, 2009 from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
