Waterloo Region Record, Kitchener, Ont. - 20 January 2010 POLLOCK, Laurance Hepburn Passed away peacefully, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday, January 17, 2010, after a seven year battle with cancer. Laurance was in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Carolyn Harvey for 20 years. Cherished father of Christa (John Stanley), and Shelley Murchison (Cam). Sadly missed by his step-sons James, Andy and Gary. Sadly missed by grandchildren Ashliegh, Jacob and Annabelle. Fondly remembered by sister Margaret of St. John's, Nfld., brother Thomas (Florence), of Greenfield Park, Quebec, son-in-law Tim, and by many nieces and nephews. Laurance was the youngest son of the late John and Elsa Pollock of St. John's, Nfld., predeceased by sisters Elsa and Flora, and by brothers John, Kelvin, William, Robert and Douglas. Mr. Pollock was a Past President and proud life member of Branch #50 Legion and will be sadly missed by his friends and comrades. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance celebrating Laurance's life will be held at the Branch #50 Legion, 524 Belmont Ave. W., Kitchener on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 1-3 p.m. Service and committal will take place at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, St. John's, Nfld. in the spring. In "lieu" of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Legion Poppy Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
