Hi Bonnie...Sorry but there were no Driscoll's or Luby/Looby or it's variants.. ~ Ann~ > Do you have a Driscoll or Luby/Looby. Thanks. > > >
Hi Vera....this is a list of prisoners in Nfld from Gov. Journals around 1843-45. If you look at the emails from a few days ago I stated exactly what they were for references for anyone needing them. Please refer back if you need them. I found No Cheesemen but a fellow by the name of " Cheese" St' John's 1845 Henry Cheese ~ Ann~ > Hi Ann > What is this list? Can you check for Cheeseman, cheesman, chesman? >
Tomorrow is the 104th birthday of Mrs. Ethel Blake, nee Miller, from Champney's East, who now resides in Brooklyn, New York. As they say, still very bright, me son. Bert Rolls
Marilyn, Thanks for your comments. However Marilyn (and anyone else interested), you don't need to upgrade your FTM software to have 2 (or even more) FTM files open at the same time. All you have to do is to use the WINDOWS Explorer file manager. First, make sure that the files that you want to open are in the same folder. Then you just highlight each file ( put curser over file name, press CNTL key and LEFT CLICK the mouse over each file) . Once the files are highlighted, RIGHT CLICK and choose OPEN. Voila - multiple files open at the same time. Sounds more complicated than it is. Although I only use FTM, I suspect that this method will also work with other genealogy software. The FTM folks have indicated that version V11 has improved the FILE APPEND/MERGE feature. Does anyone have any feedback on that? And Marilyn, where did you get your upgrade for $19.00+? I deal with Global Genealogy in Milton, ON who normally have the best Canadian prices. They are charging $29.95+ to upgrade from Version 10 to Version 11 and $44.95+ to upgrade from all earlier versions. I have a problem with that as they are also charging the same $44.95+ for a full feature brand new V11 package. I've been an FTM customer for years and I feel that these guys (FTM not Global) are taking advantage with a price structure like that. BTW, I have Version 9. Enough ranting. Matt Mullaly, Art Dalton and all others who are interested I installed FTM Vol. 11 and have partially tested it, it is basically the same as the older version but the ability to have 2 families up at once is fantastic, Matt I think you would really appreciate it for working with genweb files, I put the two index files up and went down the list, when I came to anything that tweaked my interest I just brought it up and any changes or additions were an easy copy from one to the other. I have not been able to test the publishing updates as I don't have anything to publish at the present may be some one else has tried it. I would say it was worth the $19.00+ I paid and the Label CD that came with it is good, but I wouldn't use it very often, although someone with a mailing list would benefit from it.
Hi Jeri..Only found 1 : Harbour Grace 1845 Andrew Kough No Heany/Hany or variants..I saw a Henly? This info was found on line with a lot of searching in their data base at canadiana .com. They are Gov. journals from the assembly's. I will forward the link to you. I had tried to send it to the list , maybe I'll try again ?..It would't accept it but I must have erred.... ~ Ann~ > Anne: > > Just caught some of your prisoner posts. > > In McCarthy's book, they mention a "tranported prisoner" to St. John's > KEOUGH (Kough, Keogh, Kehoe) infamous cart thief (I think) > > There was also mention of a Heaney (Haney) somewhere who "jumped ship" without paying > whatever he was supposed to. > > I didn't see a post about where you are finding this info. Is the reference online anywhere. > > Thanks >
Sorry Gerry...missed 1 ! Harbour Grace 1843 John Hearn There was also a Robert " Mearns" for St. John 1845. Wonder if there was a mis- spelling? Or was the name Mearns one of Nf? ~ Ann~ > Ann > > Would you have Conway, Hearn, Curran in your list? > > Thanks > >
Hi Gerry... There were no Conway's or Curran's but found: St. John's 1844 Thomas Hearn St. John's 1845 John Hearn ~ Ann~ > Ann > > Would you have Conway, Hearn, Curran in your list? > > Thanks >
Hi Tracy....Found : Harbour Grace 1843 Thomas Snow Harbour Grace 1844 Thomas Morris St. John's 1845 William Morris Michael Morris ~ Ann~ > If you are not terribly swamped with requests, I have a few lines running > back that far: SNOW, COOPER, MORRIS.
Hi Maryellen , sorry I didn't come across your mail? I must have missed it? Anyway..I found 1 : St. John's 1844 Mary Coady I know the spelling isn't the same , but in case you hadn't thought about it..... the change of spelling was common over time and often depending on the recorder of the data and how they spelled...Very few people were literate and some were not the best at it and spelled names { as some of us still do } as they sound. Which makes it difficult for many of us researchers. You have to keep this in mind.. ~ Ann~ > Hi Ann, > I asked before but have'nt seen the answer yet, maybe I missed it. > Looking for Cody, Brothers and Moore
Hi Cathy...Sorry ...Not a McGee or variant spelling in the lot... ~ Ann~ > Hello Ann, > Would you kindly look for McGee (also spelled Magee) in your prisoner list? > Thank you, > >
Hi Anna...Found : St. John's 1845 Michael Furlong. Saw no Angel's...Though in reality...It would be nice to see an angel eh !:) ~ Ann~ > Hi! Could you check to see if you have any FURLONG or ANGEL? FURLONG would be from IRELAND - ANGEL, from ENGLAND. Thank-you,
