HELLO LIST, I AM TRYING TO DETERMINE WHO WERE THE GRANDPARENTS OF VICTOR C. SPARKS/ES, TEACHER IN Shearstown, B. 1911 TO JOHN SPARKS/ES AND JANE (KELLY). I KNOW THAT PARSONS WROTE ABOUT VICTOR IN HIS BOOK, SOMETHING ABOUT 'WHERE FIRST I SAW THE LIGHT'. Unfortunately, I gave my copy a way to someone who had even more ties to Shearstown than I, and now I don't have the information. I have several Williams and several Isaac's and several Fannie's, but I would like to find which ones are the parents of John SPARKES b. 1883, who was Victor's father. Victor was son of John, age 27, (son of Isaac, fisherman, of BR) and Jane (Kelly),age 20 (dau of John Kelly of Coley's Point), who were married 22 Nov 1910 at Spaniards Bay Holy Redeemer Church. (publ. Bay Robts Guardian) I have the 1921 Census, Or, if anyone has other sources, I would like to detail this line of the Sparkes/s family, and am too far away to do much more in person. Thanks, Linda SPARKS Maine p.s. Colleen I just found old e-mail from you 4/01, do you know anything more?
Hi - Sorry for intruding. Are you talking about George Joyce son of Robert Joyce and Mary Sparkes? I did not think that George married a Sparkes, but a Butt. MaryAnn Ankiewicz

Don; I saw your email regarding Glenwood Cemetery. The Everett/ Chelsea MA. area has many many Newfoundlanders. Most of them were Methodists or Congregationalists. A great place to look for Newfoundlanders in that area is the Bellingham Methodist Church records in Chelsea,Ma. Also the First Congregational Church in Chelsea. Matt you can do that search by clicking on to reports then custom and then pick the items you want the search done by, it took me a long time to find that one, but it works great for me
Hi there Would it be possible for you to transcribe or photograph the headstones of these people who have Newfoundland ties that are found in the Glenwood cemetery? I would like to add them to our website. The Newfoundland's Grand Bank Genealogy Site. If you could either transcribe everything that is on the headstone or photograph them, I will gladly set them up and post them on the site. This way we can make them available to all to use. The area where I would like to add them would be: http://ngb.chebucto.org/1foreign-cem-idx.shtml The main listing of cemeteries by Newfoundland District is found at: http://ngb.chebucto.org/1dist-cem-idx.shtml If you have not been to the site, please feel free to visit. It is a completely free site with no fees or registration for using it. We have over 35,000 files of mostly original source material that has been transcribed from the original Newfoundland records. We have nearly 900 cemeteries either partially or fully transcribed plus about 5,500 headstone photos to go with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
