I agree that the traffic is light. In my lists, it's light also, and I think that's because - after the crash in Ancestry - people found other ways to make connections and didn't come back. It doesn't mean they're not out there! I moved my 2 lists over to groups on Groups.io. The Rootsweb ListOwners are very helpful to people like you and I in making that happen and creating cross-references between the new group and the old list archives. I'm expecting there to be good continuity between the two. And I'm finding the new group owners to also be very helpful with getting them set up/ Don't worry about not being an Ancestry member - I have never been one. Groups.io has nothing to do with Ancestry, and there is no cost whatsoever to create groups and run them. There is a Premium group that costs but it is for fa more complicated and intensive group use, nothing like what most of our genealogy groups are like. Regards - Glen C. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. Hello The Newfoundlands Grand Banks Site is in full operation and is not affected at all by any of this. There is a message board at the site where over 4500 registered users are currently registered and providing questions and answers. Anything posted can be read without registering but to answer or post a message of your own requires registering. This requirement keeps illegal and unwanted messages from appearing on the list. It is a free service with no cost to anyone using it. There is a link on the home page of the site where you can register to use the message board if you are not already registered. Your first post will require approval by a moderator but all further messages will go direct to the message board. Again a protection for illegal messages trying to post on the message board. http://ngb.chebucto.org/ Click on "NGB Message Board" All are welcome to join and look for and help others in their search for family information. Catherine was born on Bell Island NL, January 18, 1931. She was one of 13 children born to the late Eugene and Sarah Kelly. Kay moved to ‘Galt’ in 1963 where she continued to raise her family. She was a very kind, gentle person who loved to have family close and created a special bond with her grandchildren. A hard worker, she was an employee at Cambridge Towel and then Allen Bradley where she retired from at the age of 62. Kay was very proud of her Newfoundland heritage but loved living in Cambridge. She was very involved in St. Ambrose parish and until recently attended Mass daily. Her faith was a source of strength and peace in her declining health. She loved her family with all her heart and leaves behind her children Gary (Grace), Roxanne Rourke (Frank), Dane (Kathy), Cherree Roberts (Gary) and Joseph. Proud Grandmother of Jennifer Appiah (Rocky), Nicola Giralt (Andrew), Shayna Smith (Kevin), Aimee, Heidi (Matt), Erin (Meredith), Scott, Lindsay Roberts and Stacey Kearns (Sean).
