This matches my imagined scenario of what happened to my unknown Newton and why I can't find him. My (Mary) Jane Newton married Joseph Stewart in 1843. She did have children at the time, but she'd outlived a couple husbands, so who knows who they belonged to? They changed surnames with each new husband. Do you have the name, and any other tidbits?
