    3. Hi In answer to your question, the book is called Newton Genealogy with the following sub-titles: Genealogical, Biographical Historical being a record of the Descendants of Richard Newton of Sudbury and Marlborough, Massachusetts 1638 and yet another sub-title "with genealogies of families descended from the Immigrants: Rev. Rober Newton of Milford, Connecticut, Thomas Newton of Fairfield, Connecticut, Matthew Newton of Stonington, Connecticut, Newtons of Vriginia and Newtons near Boston. Having said all that, by far the greatest volume of information is on the descendants of Richard Newton. I, myself, would appear to be a descendant of Richard Newton through John and Elizabeth Larkin, Thomas and Record Ward, Obediah and Abigail (unknown), Phineas and Mehitable Whitney, Jonas and Tryphene Pond (hence the Pond connection). I'm still trying to make a connection between Jonas' and Tryphene's son, Abijah, and my own ggggfather, Abijah Newton. Dates appear to be right, birth locations appear to be right (there is a question over whether Abijah's daughter was born in Vermont or New York but then those borders were in question) but I cannot find that definite link. Jonas and Tryphene moved, it would appear, from Hubbardston, Worcester Co., MA possibly sometime after 1790 and Ermina only has the names of their two eldest children, Abijah and Hannah. Jonas and wife appear to have been in Milton, Chittenden Co., VT in 1800 and, in 1810 they appear to have been in Essex Co., N.Y. -- near Abijah Newton (the one I believe to be my ggggfather! But there are so many Jonas Newtons! Then by 1818 Abijah and wife (who is believed to have been a Mary Edmondson) were in what was then known as Canada West! Members of the New England Historical Genealogical Society are able to borrow this book through the NEHGS loan program. I have successfully obtained Ermina Newton Leonard's book through inter-library loan. Because my library is a university library they were able to obtain it from Brigham Young University. Interestingly it was donated to the Genealogical Society of Utah by a Noah S. Pond in 1943, then a resident of Pocatello, Idaho. He adds the following note: "The Pond ancestral line connects with the Newton people quite extensively as shown by enclosed pages of index in this volume, and I hope the Society's membership may be benefited thru the availability of this volume of the Newton tree." > > Could someone tell me the name of the book on the Newton family by > > Ermina > > Newton?
