My grandfather was a ROBERT NEWTON WHITE.b. 19 Mar. TX. d. 13 Dec. 1932, m.Alma FRYER..His father was GEORGE W. WHITE b. 12 Jan.1827d.1882 TX. and his mother was ANNIE ELIZABETH PRIDGEN (The PRIDGEN was her m. name before marrying my ggrandfather.. ) She states on a pension application that she was b. 11 May 1829 in Springfield Robertson Co. TN. She d. 20 Dec. 1918 TX. In the !860 census of Hopkins Co. TX. there living in the same household with George(age 32 ) and Elizabeth(age 30) a female named Rhoda NEWTON(age 65)and also a Robert NEWTON WHITE(age 28). Also my grandfather had a brother named GEORGE NEWTON WHITE b. 1864. They are also found in the 1850 census in Harrison Co. Tx. Could you please look in your database for these names.. In one of the census it list Rhoda as a doctress...I have suspected for many years that NEWTON was a SIR NAME..Just haven't been able to tie them in.. I would like very much to find NEWTONS IN TN.
