I am interested in exchanging data with anyone working on the family of Reverend George Newton, born about 1765 in York County, PA; in Mecklenburg, NC by 1767; established Presbyterian congregations in Buncombe, NC after 1798; and moved to Bedford County, TN about 1814 where he established the first school in the County (Mount Reserve Academy) and was the minister of the First Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville, TN. He died in Bedford County in 1840.
