    1. Re: KS and unknown area NEWTONs
    2. Kim, I think but have no proof that this Kansas line of Newtons may be descended from my Newton line ! My fifth great grandfather was Joseph Newton born in Monmouth County, New Jersey in 1724, His father was also named Joseph but that and the fact they were both Blacksmiths and could read and write quite well is abuout all I know about the Senior Joseph. From Joseph Jr. to the present generations I have quite a bit on my direct line though. I think a lot of the Grandchildren and children of Joseph and his wife Helena went West though. I have found or been found by lots of extended line "cousins in Texas, Utah, and Calif. So why not Knsas too ! Some of the names in the children of Joseph Jr. and Helean are as follows : Hannah, Elizabeth, Thomas, James, William, Kenneth Anderson, Sarah, Anna, and Lewis. I know Sarah married George Kenneth Blake and at one time had moved to Randolf County, Missouri. Joseph and Helena had left N.J. and gonmne to Greenbriar County, Va. which is now part of West Virginia. They have a wonderful Genweb Site there and you may find some answers in it too. I will keep .looking and if I find anything, will certainly let you know ! Sincerly, Patricia Newton, Brown
