It is known that Louis Henry Newton, a diamond cutter and jeweler, arrived in Philadelphia from Amsterdam in 1831 and moved directly to New Orleans. It is possible that he had been in the United States prior to this. The first sibling was probably in upstate New York prior to 1830. Mary Nathan m.
