    3. Bryan, Gay, Ernest, and Helen, On the John Newton that married Mary Mitchell and Naomi????? I heard that Mary's middle name may have been Naomi. Since Mary didn't die till 1841 in Newton, MO, either Naomi married John first or he divorced Mary???? Or is that Naomi that died in 1841 in MO? John died in 1787 so he couldn't have sired a child in 1794. Do you think there may have been another John Newton that married that Naomi Mitchell?, Richardson?, or what ever her name was? I am beginning to believe that Mary Mitchell was also Naomi. What do y'all think? Also this is on the title of Isaac Newton's article THE TRAVEL & RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE OF Isaac Newton, son of John and Mary Naomi Mitchell Newton Check my websites at bottom of this mail. The only children John had with Mary was William, Henry and Isaac. I don't know who the females were in 1790, perhaps children from Naomi are females born to Mary, not sure when John married Naomi. Gay Nix Ernest Young wrote: Helen, Do you have any proof that Naomi's maiden name was Mitchell? I am descended from John Newton and Naomi through their son Larkin Newton (b: 17 March 1794 in South Carolina and d: 21 May 1858 near Midlothian, Ellis Co., Texas). Those of us who have been researching this branch have not found any proof her maiden name was Mitchell. That could imply that she likely was a sister of Mary Mitchell, John Newton's first wife. And while that certainly happened in many instances back then, and now, too, there is no proof that Naomi's maiden name was Mitchell. As far as I know, her maiden surname is not known. What is your descendant line from John Newton and Naomi? I have seen claim that the article title includes the "son of John...." part, but I have never witnessed that aspect of it with my own eyes. Is it possible for you to scan the title page of the article and post it to your website so that we can all see that part as well?
