Gregg, I think that title may have been amended by someone other than Isaac Newton. That is the way it was sent it to me. I will have to do some checking to find just who added that "son of John and Mary Mitchell (Naomi) Newton" to the document. I only have a transcribed document of this so I would love to see the original too. I will attach what I have to you soon. They are on my other computer. Now, getting back to the Mary Mitchell and Naomi thing. From all the info I have seen, I am beginning to believe that Mary and Naomi must have married two different John Newtons as Naomi had a child in 1797 and John died at least 10 years before that, right? I have seen claim that the article title includes the "son of John...." part, but I have never witnessed that aspect of it with my own eyes. Is it possible for you to scan the title page of the article and post it to your website so that we can all see that part as well? Cheers, Gregg --------------------------------- Don't get soaked. Hi Dave, I don't know. In cases like this, I just look to see if it resolves at WorldConnect. In this case it is quite clear that some people think that this John Newton died 11 Nov 1787, and others think he died 11 Nov 1799. I don't know where either of these dates come from.
