Let me jump in and ask for the information also. My Rueben Newton came from Caswell Co. or Persons Co. NC
Just saw this. Have been offline for a few days. The answer to your question depends on when Reuben lived. :-) There was at least one Reuben Newton that passed thru NC in the late 18th --- early 19th centuries. He was from Caroline County, VA, born mid 1700s, and ultimately ended up in Kentucky. Was probably a Rev War vet, and may have been a brother to Benjamin and Peter Newton of Caroline County. Peter was my ggggg-grandfather. There was another Reuben in So Carolina at about the same time, but he was younger by a generation. He was probably born around 1800 to Henry Newton and Nancy Glass. Sandy Keylon [[email protected]] used to belong to this list, and was tracking Reuben the Elder. Cindy A. Teel [[email protected]] was tracking the latter Reuben. If either of you are still on the list, please jump in.
