    1. Re: Long Shot
    2. Hello Hazel, This really is a long shot. Actually, I have no information on my Parker other than a name, Margaret Catherine Parker. She married Luis Bumgardner, of Burke Co., NC. The date of their marriage is unknown to me and this info does come from another family researcher online. He gives a birthdate of 1785 for my Margaret Catherine Parker. My Newtons are John McCall Newton (m. Jennie Arrowood 1816--spelling varies), and their son Benjamin B. Newton. Benjamin married Millie Norman and their daughter was Susan Ann Newton, who married William Bumgardner (my 3rd great grandparents). I originally had Captain Benjamin Newton and Nancy McCall as John McCall's parents, but the dates don't seem right. Another researcher checked their records and told me that the information they held agrees that John McCall Newton does indeed descend from Ebenezer Newton, descendant of an heir to Sir Isaac Newton. HOWEVER, since I need to recheck this info and figure out why the dates seem wrong, I hesitate to connect them at this point. My info shows Captain Benjamin as the son of Ebenezer Newton and Elizabeth Buchanan. There is more than one Ebenezer and it could be that something got mixed up there. Let me know if I have confused you--I'm still new to this! I have the info from Geralene Newton ([email protected]), who has an excerpt from a book which takes the Newtons from 1066 England to the US if that would help, or contact her directly through her email. Laura Champion Paulk Orlando, FL researching Falls, Bumgardner, Newton, Pruitt, Jerrill/Jarrell, Arrowood (or variation), Parker, Whiteside, Goforth, Sanders, etc., etc.
