I have a cousin who claims to have traced our Newton family back to Linconshire, England. Problem is, he does not have any documentation and belongs to the "if it don't fit force it" club so I question his research. I would like to ask if anyone has a Newton family from Lincolshire who had a Rueben Newton, Sr., 1750. He was in Caswell Co, NC and Persons Co. NC in 1770. Rueben, Sr. died in Hardin Co., Ky. abt. 1820. I have reason to believe he had brothers named Benjamin and Peter Newton who are shown on the Mercer Co. 1800 Census with one of Rueben, Sr. daughters named Rachel. She is listed as a widow. Thanks. Researching Newton, Willis, Phillips, Camp Denison, Doyle, Shackelford, and Cannon.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to trace my "Newton's" back that far. I'm mainly interested in Newton's that migrated to Australia from England in the early 1900's.
