Rich, I don't think I have a connection to this person, but I am searching for William George Newton, who lived in Davenport, WA in 1905 - 1920 (approx). He was born in Muscatine Co, IA in 1858 to Perry M. Newton (b. ~1817 PA) and Rebecca Holler. In 1889 he was in Fulton Co, IL, where my grandmother, Nell Newton was born. Could we possibly have a connection? Miss Newton, who was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., died Nov 10. She was a Spokane resident for more than 70 years. Miss Newton graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and received a teaching degree in 1939 from Cheney Normal School. She served as a secretary for the Navy for a year and a half. Miss Newton than taught school for three years in Lacrosse, Wash., and then worked for the Spokane School District. She retired in 1972 from Franklin Elementary School. She was a member of the Washington State, National and Spokane Education associations, and Westminster Congregational Church.
