    3. Would this John Newton you mentioned baptized in 1649 be the one that born Kingston 1639 upon Hull Yorkshire, England, died 1712 Stafford VA? I have tried to connect this John with my g x 4 grandfather, John Newton of Rev. War, born 1750-1799 was born in Lunenburg Virginia. There are some Henry Newtons in Essex County VA that might be the connection between the John Newton you mentioned and my John. At some point he and/or children were in Mecklenburg. Isn't there Mecklenburg NC as well as GA? If so, that has caused some confusion. This John had three sons, Isaac, Henry and William. I descend from Henry. I have been meaing to get to the State Archives and look into that volume 21 Historical southern Families. Thank you, Monty Newton >>> [email protected] 10/30/00 11:21AM >>> Peggy, I am descendant of Rev George Newton. According to "Historical Southern Families Vol 21" My line starts with definite proof of Ebenezer Newton born 1725. The book suggests that he is descendant of John Newton (baptized December 2,1649 in Oundle, Northampton, England) and his father, Robert Newton (baptized Sept 27, 1607) , brother to Isaac Newton (father of Sir Isaac Newton). I know there are several more books out there, but haven't found them yet. Bob
