    1. RE: Moses Newton, Richard Newton
    2. Monty Newton
    3. thanks, very briefly though. where were they born? espcially the ones between 1700-1820. Could be a sibling in there. Monty >>> [email protected] 01/09/01 01:42PM >>> Monty, My Newton line is: Elizabeth (Living) George F. 1893-1952 John F. 1860-1917 Jabez (Dr.) 1821-1903 John 1783-1863 John 1754-1831 Moses 1725- Isaac 1696-1771 Moses 1669-1736 Moses 1645-1736 Richard 1609?? Nearly all of my line is Middlesex Co., MA and Tolland Co., CT, then from Jabez on, California. My John in the 1750's was born and died in CT. I don't think there is a connection here, unless back further. Linda M. Does John Newton 1750-1799, Rev. War Sgt (Seige of Charleston and Battle of Cowpens) fit into that line? We are sketchy on Newtons before him. but I do have two Henry Newtons that I have assumed may be his great grand and grandfatther born in Essex County Va in 1654, and 1690 respectively. thanks, Monty Newton >>> [email protected] 01/08/01 01:26PM >>> Has anyone been able to unravel this NEWTON puzzle: I am descended from Moses Newton (b.1646, MA) and Joanna Larkin. Moses is consistently listed as the son of Richard Newton and Anne or Hannah Loker. This is where the line seems to take two distinct paths. Richard is listed as being born abt 1609, the son of Robert Newton and unknown spouse; or just as often as being born abt 1589, as the son of Isaac Newton and Thanks or Thankful Newton. Could Robert or Isaac have been a middle name? The birth date of 1589/90 for Richard seems unlikely (but not impossible) as either Robert of Isaac would have been only 13 or 14 in 1589. Most postings using Isaac as the father, show Isaac's parents as unknown. Several Postings for Robert as the father take the line further back through Richard (1542), John, and John. Has anyone seen any proof or evidence of which is correct, or have any other information to solve this puzzle. Linda M. May [email protected]
