    3. Hi Folks, I just wanted to let people know that the Newton Surname DNA Project now has 100 members! This includes cases of men surnamed Newton who have had their Y-chromosome DNA tested by FTDNA, and also various others not surnamed Newton, but who have had their Y-chromosome tested by FTDNA and who have signed up for the Newton Surname DNA Project, or else are the contact person for another who has submitted his Y-chromosome DNA for the Newton Surname DNA Project, or another project, but are also signed up for the Newton Surname DNA Project. The vast majority are Newton men testing their own Y-chromosome as part of the project. Also, we have a few samples from other labs that are also included in the project, such that we have about 90 Y-chromosome test results reported for men surnamed Newton. Project members also have other tests performed, such as mtDNA and autosomal, so there are a bunch of those also, but they are not part of the project except where they may help elucidate otherwise ambiguous Y-chromosome results. I am sure the project will continue to grow. I hope that those still considering doing the test will do so. The more who test, the better the resolving power of the technique will be for all. Cheers, Gregg Bonner Newton Surname DNA Project Group Administrator
