Gay, I agree. That connection of John Newton (b. c1750) to Henry Newton of Essex seems remote. Hopefully, as more material becomes available via Google Books, etal, doorways into those brick walls will open. I've been doing okay. I 've been laying off the Newton genealogy search for a while, as it was frustrating. I've been tracing the maternal lines, looking for clues. I even found some newly available material online about a great uncle who was 'lost' since the 1930s. With his rediscovery, I've since found a rafter of cousins. With the clues provided by Bonner's Newton DNA data, some clues are slowing emerging, allowing tighter search possiblities. Hopefully, as more DNA samples are made available, you'll find something to track John back a generation or two. happy hunting, Greg Newton 20 Pinedale #1 Houston, Texas 77006 USA ----- Original Message ----- From: "LYNDON NIX" <warpaint1128@sbcglobal.net> To: <newton@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 11, 2010 2:01 PM Subject: Re: [NEWTON] DNA v.49 NEWTONs of St. James Parish (VA) & RobertH.Newton (m.
