    1. [NEWTON] NEWTON'S IN WASHINGTON CO VA & SULLIVAN CO TN
    2. Hi, I need to know if anyone is researching ANY NEWTON line in this area of Virginia and Tennessee about the time of 1790s and 1800. John Laughlin married a Phebe Newton ca 1794 in this area and I am not having a lot of luck finding any New ton males who could be her father. Thanks, Rachel

    3. Rachel, Our DNA participant Jimmie Newton (FTDNA#36860) claims descent from NEWTONs of Washington County, Virginia, who were later in Tennessee. That group is the Node "E" NEWTONs. The descent claimed isn't early enough to produce a father for you, but maybe it is some clue. 3. Yes, my husband's Newtons were supposedly in Kentucky before coming to Tennessee sometime after 1822 to Hardeman Co., Tenn. I'll get back to you with the specific Co. in Ky where they were supposedly living before coming to Tennessee. Thanks. Linda J. Higgins, wife of Richard L. Higgins, whose mother, Helen Futrell Higgins' mother was Martha May Newton of Saulsbury, Tenn., Hardeman Co. ----- Original Message ----- From: <HGRACE5366@aol.com> To: <newton@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 09, 2010 4:25 PM Subject: [NEWTON] NEWTON'S IN WASHINGTON CO VA & SULLIVAN CO TN > Hi, > I need to know if anyone is researching ANY NEWTON line in this area of > Virginia and Tennessee about the time of 1790s and 1800. > John Laughlin married a Phebe Newton ca 1794 in this area and I am not > having a lot of luck finding any New ton males who could be her father. > Thanks, > Rachel > > > > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > NEWTON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes > in the subject and the body of the message >
