I found, on the 1830 Federal Census of Halifax Co., VA that William NEWTON had a son (age 5 & under 10) and two little girls under age 5. On the 1840 Census, I found the same family, but one of those daughters is no longer with us which says to me that she died. I do not know her name, nor the name of the one who lived. By the 1850 Census, the same family is shown with the son, Henry James at age 25 still living in the parental home. The second unnamed daughter is no longer in the home. This means that she either died OR is married. Does anyone know of a female NEWTON, b. in Virginia, with father named William, mother Jane, married in the 1840s? I know that is not much to go on, but I hope someone is looking for the parents of such a young woman. This might be where she fits.
