I have the same basic census information that you posted. In the book 'Bayou Salado' it says that it was Robert 'Chubb' Newitt, but I do not see a Robert listed in the census but it is probably the one listed as RB Newitt. He died in Garo when someone looking at a gun he had for sale, dropped it and it accidentially discharged, hitting him the posterior and he died of blood poisoning. No date.
