OK, Here Goes With My Present Crumbling Wall, For 10 years I had been unable to find "anything" on Emma CLEEK of Camden Twp (Schuyler) Illinois except her 1st marriage was to a PRUNTY and her 2nd marriage was to a JOHNSON. Thanks to the on-line Illinois marriage index I found and have now received a copy of her marriage license in 1892 to "Robert Farris / Pharos PRUNTY" who states he is a farmer in Camden Twp (Schuyler) Illinois. They were married in Brown County for some reason. His family was and continues to be in Huntsville Twp (Schuyler) Illinois. I have spent hours and hours trying to find Robert or Pharos and Emma (CLEEK) PRUNTY in the 1900 Census, not in Schuyler, Brown, or Cass County, Illinois! No luck finding them in the 1910 census either. I do now know that they had at least 2 children but I don't know where or when, they are named Joel Byran and Mabel Daisy. Pharos died very suddenly in 1917 in Beardstown (Cass) Illinois at his twin brothers home. In the 1920 Beardstown (Cass) Ill census I find a Florence PRUNTY age 19 who was widowed with a son Russell age 4 and 3/4, yes, she was the widow of Pharos and was not yet 15 when her son Russell was born. Where or where are Emma and her children in the 1920 census, but I do know she was Emma JOHNSON living in Ft Madison (Lee) Iowa when her step-mother died in 1937 and was still there when her father died in 1948. My husband's Aunt just found a death notice for Emma in the Rushville (Schuyler) newspaper, she was Mrs Robert JOHNSON a loving wife and mother, services were to be held at Ft Madison (Lee) Iowa, she died 22 Jan 1956. But, I cannot locate the Woodland Cemetery where she is supposed to have been buried or the Clements Chapel that was supposed to have handled her services. And of course, the names and location of her children are not mentioned. I am sending for her obit and death record, but as it has been a couple of months since I first wrote Lee County asking for another obit and I still have not heard anything back from them, I expect the wait will be long. If any of our list members are researching these names or from these areas of Ill or Ia and have any suggestions for me to help locate information there, please drop me a line.
