I am researching many family lines, but the one that is most difficult is HUGHES. I do not know the given name for my great grandfather HUGHES, but he married Jemima (maiden name unknown), who was born 1810 in KY. They had four known children in Illinois. Jemima and the children were in Lamar Co., TX by 1847--but the husband was not there. The children were: Stewart Hughes, b. abt. 1834 in IL William M. Hughes, b. about 1836 in IL John Robert Hughes, b. abt. 1838 in IL Lucinda A. Hughes, b. 1841 in Illinois I am almost certain that they resided in or near Jersey County Illinois, but I have not proven that yet.
