A quick question.. Is a land transfer record a primary source for proof of marriage and or parentage??? My grt. grandparents marriage license only has his initials and last name circa 2/04/1905. Unfortunately there were several people with the same name in that county Andrew J. Pool. My grt. grandmother's tombstone has her maiden name on it. She died 04/14/1909. The land transfer record has Eva Pool married to Andrew Jackson Pool, and says he inherited the property from his father and names him. Her brothers were the witnesses(signed at bottom) and a magistrate/Justice of Peace also notarized it. Its dated 1/09/10/1908.
