Good morning to everyone: A NEW PROBLEM! Yesterday everything was fine and today it started as soon as I started my computer. I like to File items on Floppy discs [Iomega] and have filed literally 1000's of them successfully using .rtf extensions. Today this is the message I get.... 'If you change a filename extension, the file may become unusable. Are you sure you want to change it.' Then a choice of buttons - YES [which is the designated Button to use, and a No Button which is not marked.] NB: HOWEVERÂ….I am NOT trying to change anything. I am simply trying to open an .rtf in the usual manner prior to file/paste some information. A few times I did actually get to paste my info in, then Save, but then it will not let me Name the File without the above sequence of happenings. WEIRD! No matter which Button/Option I try is a problem at this point. If I click YES the Icon changes from the little W Icon to a little Windows Icon. When I try to reopen this document I get the following.... A WINDOW which reads... [OPEN WITH Click the program you want to use to open the file "NameOfFile". If the program you want is not on the list Click Other.. This now has a long list of A-Z Items. ] Usually when I open an .rtf File I get a lovely Word Document! This problem persists even when I try to file under the .doc as well as the .rtf ! I am not a computer whiz and have a lot of difficulty in many areas. Please, I need help but in the very simplest of terms! BTW, I use an HP Pavilion 6532 with Intel Celeron 4000MHz Processor. 128 MB. 6.0 GB Hard Drive. Windows 98. I just checked and I have 1,101,379 available allocation units. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you sincerely June Conklin Ridsdale Â…
