Sent to me by a member of the Friends of Historic Lone Jack re Battle of Lone Jack, MO Project (where my family is from) American Battlefield Protection Program, National Park Service http://www2.cr.nps.gov/abpp/priority.htm The American Battlefield Protection Program's financial and technical assistance is gives primacy to the Civil War battlefields identified by the Civil War Sites Advisory Commission (CWSAC) as the top priorities for preservation action. The CWSAC identified the most important and most threatened Civil War battlefields as Priority I sites. The Commission defined Priority II sites as battlefields in good condition that provide excellent opportunities for preservation of the entire core area. The Commission's findings are published in its Report on the Nation's Civil War Battlefields.
