The battery will be located on the motherboard of the PC. It could be a small blue cylinder about half the size of a AA battery. They are sometimes soldered on which makes it very hard to change. Some people I know have just cut the old battery and fixed a new modern type to the motherboard. Normally they are located on the edge of the motherboard. Newer machines have the small flat batteries like they use in calculators and they are very easy to replace.
