I can understand how shattered your nerves would get over that episode!] At the same time that our own Dr. Bill was having a terrible time with his virus invasion I received this URL from a friend. I checked the page, bookmarked it, and then 2 days ago decided to download the program. AVG 6.0 - FREE VIRUS PROTECTION http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.cfm I recommend that YOU check the page now, and bookmark it if you do not have time to deal with it at the moment. The current Virus protection that I had on my computer had given me some updates and was now due for an update which would cost me more money. As I live in Canada, and the update had to be converted to US Funds, this can get super costly for a senior on a pension. [The purchase of my current program was $70.00 CDN just a few months ago, and was now due for more money to go in the company kitty!] "This Protection was not difficult to down load" says the Dummy here! It did take me a bit of time, almost 30 minutes, but I was able to follow the instructions given. The beauty of this set up seems to be in the fact that an AUTOMATIC update will be added once per month, therefore give continued protection. You can also run a test for a Virus on all your external stuff such as Floppies, CDs etc. The window that pops up is clearly marked to let you do this. The program ran a complete test on my C:\\ Drive, which took about 50 minutes and then gave me a full report to record & compare against future tests. Please note that I have no affiliation with this company but am just passing the info along, for whatever it is worth, to those who want Virus Protection.
