Hi Everyone It's been almost a year since I unsubscribed, and it sure seems good to start reading NEWGEN-L again. I won't have a lot of time for writing, as I'm still dealing with health problems with my husband, but I'm trying to spend at least a little time each day for me(which means computer and genealogy). Starting the first of the year we're supposed to have someone come in for 4 hours a day, which will give me more free time. For those of you who were on the list last year, you may remember that I was searching for my Smith line, and had made contact with some cousins in GA. Well, while we were on our extended trip, I met them, and their wonderful! I felt like I'd always known them. I still don't know a lot more about the Smiths, but I have all the cousins excited about genealogy, and we're making some progress. Even though I didn't find much information about my grt.grandfather Smith, I was able to find a good bit about my grt.grandmother's line. And, we're planning a reunion for next Spring. For any of you who are new to this list, I want to tell you it's the best thing that had happened to me in a long time. I don't know what I would have done without all the encouragement, especially form Dr. Bill and Betty. And not just about genealogy. Everyone gave me so much support. No one made fun of my novice status on the computer and on genealogy. I learned so much form everyone. This list is the best! As soon as I have more time, I'll Let you know about all my new surnames.
