    2. --part1_a6.a73fd01.2713af82_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi Carol, Thanks! With us it will be more difficult to prove as the family is most uncooperative, denying the Indian blood. We have had some laugh and even some "researchers" laugh about it. One even wanted to charge $1000 to research but I got bad "vibs" from that person. My great grandmother was Choctaw - her family disowned her because she married a white man. She won't show on the Dawes roll as she was born way before that (1847). Her children are not listed as Indian on any census and she identified herself as white as well. She choose to identify herself with her husband's people (Scottish). But we have no doubt she was Indian! I and one of my half brothers, are proud of the Indian blood, even if it's never really proved. My half brother is on the Chickasaw roll as his mother is Chickasaw and he really wants to know if he also is Choctaw.
