    3. WWII Sailors from Norway This is a great site for anyone whose ancestor was a sailor from Norway during WWII. It has complete descriptions of the ships, and lots of pictures! www.warsailors.com/freefleet/index.html. Example: Name of Ship M/T B. P. Newton NS * Managed By Tschudi & Eitzen, Oslo Tonnage 10 324 gt Built in Malmö, Sweden 1940. One of the well known "Kvarstad"-ships that attempted to break out of Sweden on March 31/April 1-1942 following a long court case there. Only 2 out of a total of 10 ships involved managed to reach their destination, B. P. Newton being one of them (Operation Performance, Sir George Binney.) Please go to my page Kvarstad Ships & Men for background facts and details on the breakout and all ships involved, with a crew list for each ship as well as info on their fate (unfortunately, I only have the Norwegian names.) A picture of this ship and details on her final fate can be found under B. P. Newton (also has a survivors & casualty list.)
